Mr. Kazuo Yasumatsu (Japan)
Registered Architect, Interior Planner & Coordinator
Principal of Human Academy School, Tachikawa

With a Master of Architecture from Japan Nihon University of Architect Engineering, Mr. Kazuo Yasumatsu has been known as a passionate and creative architect & interior designer in Japan for 30 years. He was an experienced interior designer for SOGO Department store in Japan and is the founder of the An Design Interior Architect Firm in year 2000.

His involvement in design education has lead to his appointment as the principal of Human Academy School, in Tachikawa, one of the renowned design schools in Japan. In the meantime, he is lecturing at both the Human Academy Career School and Yomiuri Institute of Technology Department of Architecture. He is the member of Japan Interior Planner Association Tokyo (JIPAT), Japan Society of Interior Studies (JASIS) and Interior Coordinator Tokyo.

Mr. Emilio Aldao Guitián (Spain)
Founder of 3D Visualization Studio Quart NTD, La Coruña, Spain 
Founder and Marketing Director of AC Soft

With a Master in Digital Creation and Communication from University of La Coruña, Emilio had being well known on 3D Visualization in Europe. His distinctive expertise can be showed in plenty of distinguished projects, such as appointed 3D designer at Dygra Films and creation of The Living Forest, first 3D animated film in Europe.

His dedication and enthusiasm in architecture and interior design has brought him to specialize in architectural visualization, film production in design industry, industrial design and development and distribution of interior design software. Thus, his profession has lead constant collaboration with Europe’s top designers and architects. Emilio’s design capability has lead his quotes and interviews regularly appear in the media and to date, he is one of the preferred and prominent design partners in Spain.

1. Originality and Innovation

Unique approach in design problem solving and practical use of materials.

2. Creativity

An effective concept that answers or exceeds the project objectives/ brief/ requirements quality in design detailing and construction.

3. Space Planning

Intelligent usage of space and spatial organization.

4. Aesthetics

The overall outcome of the combinative use of artifacts, materials and interior concepts.

5. Colour

Compatibility of colour scheme into the interior space and concept.

1. Degree of Innovation a. Is the design new?
b. Is it radically different from existing products?
c. Is there innovative use of existing technology or new technology?
   
2. Marketability

a. What is the potential of the product for commercialization?
b. Does it appeal to the market which it was designed for?
c. How well is the design and its detailed resolved?
d. What is the degree of emotional appeal?

   
3. Functionality a. Does the concept fulfill all requirements of handling, usability and safety?
b. Does it fulfill the need of the function?
   
4. Environment a. Was it over-designed?
b. Innovative use of recycled products/ materials?
       
Judging Process  

Preliminary Judging

  • All participating projects will be judge and being shortlisted separately from each countries.
  • Shortlisted projects will be displayed during the night of the Award Ceremony..
 

Final Judging

  • Shortlisted projects from each country will be compile and judge by International panel of judges.
  • Winners from shortlisted entries will be announced on the night of the Award Ceremony.
